Sub-Zero Repair New England is an independent repair business working on Sub-Zero refrigeration across the inner Boston metro. Built-in cabinets, integrated columns, drawer freezers, ice makers and wine storage — one appliance category, which is why the van is loaded the way it is.
The work is diagnostic before it is mechanical. A cabinet that has stopped holding temperature is telling you something about airflow, about defrost, or about the sealed system, and those three lead to very different repairs. Taking the readings first is what stops a fan motor being fitted to a machine whose real problem is a blocked capillary.
Everything is carried out in the kitchen where the cabinet stands. Nothing is taken away, and nothing is opened up before you have agreed a price for the work.

Model number and the actual complaint
The plate is behind the fresh-food door on most built-ins, low on the frame on a column. That plus a plain description — warm at the top, frost on the drawer, running without stopping — narrows a call before anyone is dispatched.

Readings taken in the kitchen
Compartment and evaporator temperatures, condenser and evaporator fan behaviour, defrost heater and thermistor resistance, and pressures on the sealed system when the readings point that way. Written down as they are taken.

Parts and labour quoted together and agreed before work starts. When a cabinet is not worth the repair, that is the answer you get rather than a partial fix and a second visit.
